Afro-Cuban Percussion is a collection of 880 MIDI loops for Salsa and other styles of Latin music. You can also use these percussion loops in other styles of music such as rock, pop, dance, fusion, electronica, etc. We’ve included loops in the following styles: Cha Cha, Mambo, Songo, Mozambique, Timba, Pilon and Bembe.

Battery or Komplete REQUIRED

Please note that these loops are currently only mapped for Battery so you'll need either Battery 3 or Komplete 5 or higher to use these percussion midi loops. However, we will port these over to Ableton Live's "Latin Percussion" add-on pack soon!

About the Grooves

Styles: While our main focus was to record percussion loops suitable for Salsa music, these grooves can be used in almost any situation calling for percussion grooves: Latin, rock, pop, dance, fusion, electronica and more!

Rich and Highly Detailed: We chose Battery to record these grooves because their Afro-Cuban drums have lots of articulations - and we used over 50 different instrument articulations for these patterns!

Styles: These grooves were played live by professional drummer and percussionist, Chris Morrow. Chris has studied and played Afro-Cuban percussion professionally for many years, going back to his days as a student at the Berklee School of Music.
