About the Grooves

Groove Monkee Progressive contains over 1900 royalty free beats and fills for modern progressive music. We've covered the following time signatures: 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 5/8, 6/4, 6/8, 7/4, 7/8 and 9/8 with tempos ranging from 75 to 210 BPM.

The material was played by drummerJoe Babiak of the prog group ‘Parallel Mind’.

About Joe Babiak

Joe Babiak began his musical career at the age of five. He first started with the piano and soon after took up the trumpet. Joe played in concert and jazz bands all throughout his schooling and was the recipient of numerous awards. He was also part of a national youth wind ensemble that performed at Carnegie Hall. Joe attended Elmhurst College (IL) where he earned his B.A. in Music Business/Communications.

Joe's progressive group, Parallel Mind, is signed to Unicorn Records of Canada and released their debut CD, Colossus ADEA, in 2005.

In the spring of 2006, Joe joined the Chicago based band, Kill Hannah, for a 5 month national tour in support of the group's second album release with Atlantic Records. Joe has also had the honor of appearing in Modern Drummer magazine four times.

A highly versatile drummer, Joe is comfortable in many styles including punk, ska, pop, alternative rock, folk, electronica, dance, jazz, fusion, Latin, funk, metal, progressive rock, and musical theater.
